GENERAL SUMMARY
This is an opportunity for a self-motivated, success driven individual looking to join Legal Sea Food’s accounting department located in South Boston, MA. The ideal candidate must be able to multi-task , work well in a team-oriented environment, possess great communication skills and have a basic understanding of accounting fundamentals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Audit daily sales reports that are submitted from the restaurant group for accuracy. Resolve discrepancies and post sales to the general ledger. Edit daily Accounts Payable batches that are submitted from the restaurant group for accuracy. Correct errors and post to the general ledger. Research questions from vendors and/or restaurant operations about status of open invoices. Mail Sorting, Filing, copying and other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager or Senior Accounting Associate. Special projects within the Finance group after an acceptable level of proficiency and aptitude is achieved. Bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES- Ability to work in a fast paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Ability to communicate effectively with restaurant operations.
- Must be able to multitask, prioritize and delegate.
- Must have excellent attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAINING- Associates Degree is preferred.
- Prior Experience in a Corporate Accounting Environment is desired.
- Experience working with General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable is desired.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
- Reports to the Accounting Manager.
- Must be able to work independently.
