Wines of South Africa, May 15 - June 11

May 15, 2017

South Africa boasts a winemaking tradition going back more than 350 years.  And while the quality revolution that has swept the category in recent decades has resulted in widespread critical acclaim, South African wines still remain relatively undiscovered.

Geography plays a significant role in the quality story of South African wines.  The Cape Winelands enjoy a mild, Mediterranean climate, moderated by cooling breezes from the Atlantic and Indian Oceans.  Its soils are among the most weathered and diverse of any wine-growing region, and the terrain is marked by dramatic mountain ranges which create diverse microclimates.  The wines tend to be terroir-driven, site-specific and nuanced in flavor.

Our special feature menu offers twelve wines by the glass as well as two flights.  Raise a glass of South African wine!
