Legal Sea Foods Supports Boston Children’s Hospital with $100K Donation, Bringing Hope to Families in Need

The iconic restaurant continues its long-standing philanthropic partnership with Boston Children’s Hospital, raising funds during various brand activations including its signature Chowda Day event

BOSTON, MASS. – (April 11, 2024) – The leadership team from Legal Sea Foods, the beloved New England restaurant, demonstrated its unwavering commitment to the community and ongoing support of Boston Children’s Hospital by donating $100,000 raised in part from its annual fundraising initiatives. This generous contribution will directly support the hospital’s groundbreaking Stem Cell Research Program which utilizes fish to find cures for cancer.

Legal Sea Foods’ Brand President and COO, Matt King, and other members of the restaurant’s executive team had the opportunity to personally deliver the $100,000 donation and take a behind-the-scenes tour of the research facilities, gaining valuable insights about the important work being done by the hospital’s team. Led by Dr. Leonard Zon, they provided an exclusive glimpse into their innovative research of using cellular barcoding in zebrafish to understand how clones of stem cells expand in preleukemia.This groundbreaking research by Dr. Zon and his team has the potential to lead to new treatments and cures for blood cancers, impacting the lives of the many patients and families affected by these diseases.
