BOSTON, MASS. – (April 11, 2024) – The leadership team from Legal Sea Foods, the beloved New England restaurant, demonstrated its unwavering commitment to the community and ongoing support of Boston Children’s Hospital by donating $100,000 raised in part from its annual fundraising initiatives. This generous contribution will directly support the hospital’s groundbreaking Stem Cell Research Program which utilizes fish to find cures for cancer.

Led by Dr. Leonard Zon, they provided an exclusive glimpse into their innovative research of using cellular barcoding in zebrafish to understand how clones of stem cells expand in preleukemia. This groundbreaking research by Dr. Zon and his team has the potential to lead to new treatments and cures for blood cancers, impacting the lives of the many patients and families affected by these diseases.

“We are extremely proud to nurture our long-standing relationship with Boston Children’s Hospital,” said King. “The initiatives we have developed as an organization and the incredible generosity of our guests and restaurant teams help to make these donations possible year after year. It’s very moving for us to see firsthand how our ongoing support positively impacts research that could save young lives.”
